Tampere International Music Award, presented at the Music x Media Industry Awards gala, has been given to Fruzsina Szép.

The City of Tampere will continue its dedicated funding for projects activating the Culture District in 2027 as part of its one-off cultural grants.

Applications for Development Grants for Culture are open from 16 September to 7 October 2026 at 3:45 pm.

Members of associations’ executive committees are welcome to attend the ABC of Associations training on 9 September 2026. The training will introduce the key practices of association activities and review the duties and responsibilities of an association’s executive committee.

The application period for the City of Tampere’s 2027 general grants will run from 14 September to 14 October 2026. Information about applying for general grants and recent changes to the City’s grant scheme will be provided at an information session held at City Hall on 16 September 2026.

During the autumn of 2026, a series of lectures and networking sessions will be organised to support event planning for small-scale organisers, DIY-minded groups, communities and individuals.

The application period for the City of Tampere’s 2027 general grants has changed.

The Culture and Leisure Committee awarded the annual cultural prizes and incentive grants at the Town Hall on 29 April 2026.

The City of Tampere has allocated a separate budget of €15,000 for one-off cultural grants to support activities that enliven the Culture District area in 2026. Applicants may apply for co-funding up to a maximum of €3,000 for projects that offer publicly accessible cultural content within the Culture District.

At its meeting on 12 February 2026, the Culture and Leisure Committee approved the strategy implementation plan for 2026–2029 and the annual plan for the current year.
