Four Tampere Residents’ Evenings this spring – Hervanta, Peltolammi, Nekala and Kaukajärvi up next

This spring’s Tampere Residents’ Evenings will take place in Hervanta, Peltolammi, Nekala and Kaukajärvi. During these events, the city will present future plans for each area and invite residents to discuss a broader local theme. The events are open to everyone interested.

At the Residents’ Evenings, participants will hear about current issues in the city, have the opportunity to influence the development of their area, and meet other local residents and organisations. The events are continuously developed to better meet the wishes of Tampere residents.

– This year, we have strengthened the local focus of the Residents’ Evenings. The events will present and discuss current matters in each area, such as topics related to local services, land use planning and mobility. In addition to these, each evening has its own specific theme, says Regional Coordinator Jarno Koskinen, who is responsible for organising the events.

– In Hervanta, the discussion will focus on diversity and equality as part of the national Anti-Racism Week. In Peltolammi, the main topic will be the upcoming Peltolammi House and the services it will offer. In Nekala, the theme is culture, which will gain new momentum with the opening of the NekaLab cultural centre. In Kaukajärvi, the evening will focus on local meeting places, Koskinen explains.

The Tampere Residents’ Evenings will take place as follows:

  • Tue 17 March 2026 at 17.00–19.00 in Hervanta (Hervanta Leisure Centre)
  • Tue 31 March 2026 at 17.00–19.00 in Peltolammi (Peltolammi School)
  • Wed 15 April 2026 at 17.00–19.00 in Nekala (NekaLab)
  • Wed 29 April 2026 at 17.00–19.00 in Kaukajärvi (Kaukajärvi Leisure Centre)

A more detailed programme for each evening will be published later in a separate area-specific news item.

Deputy Mayors and local associations in attendance

One or more Deputy Mayors will also take part in the Residents’ Evenings.

– Residents want to meet the city’s top decision-makers and share their concerns and views on city matters directly with them, says Regional Coordinator Koskinen.

– For example, at last December’s Residents’ Evening, the discussion was very lively when dozens of residents came to meet the Mayor, the Deputy Mayors and the Chair of the City Council. We want to offer this opportunity again.
Local associations have traditionally also taken part in the Residents’ Evenings, presenting their activities to residents.

– This has been very popular. However, this year we cannot include all associations due to limited space. We will select those associations whose activities best match the theme of each evening. It is still worth applying, Koskinen encourages.

Associations can register using the online form: Registration Form: Tampere Residents’ Evenings Spring 2026. Those selected will be informed approximately two weeks before the event.
