Information for athletes

The City of Tampere Sports Services manages the sports facilities at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre. You can apply to use the facilities via the link below.

Hall A

Hall A is a large training facility for soccer and track and field running and jumping events. The hall's track and field facilities are available for use by athletes unless the facility has been reserved for another event. Hall A is reserved for use by junior members of Tampere athletics clubs on weekdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The real-time booking status of the hall can be found in the Timmi booking system of Tampere City Sports Services.

The hall is open daily during the sports season. Outside the sports season, the doors are generally closed and are only opened upon request. You can inquire about daily opening hours by calling 0400 383 558.

Payment for the hall is made in the online store, where you can purchase a single ticket or a season ticket. The entrance to the hall is through the main doors. Admission to the facilities is with a downloaded academy card and a single ticket purchased online or with a season ticket. Travel cards are not accepted as a means of payment.

Hall B

Hall B is a training hall for athletics, available to Tampere athletes unless it has been reserved for another event. The hall offers two long jump pits, a 4-lane running track, pole vault and high jump facilities, and opportunities for strength and throwing training. Access to Hall B is via the main entrance of Hall A and, during trade fairs, via door B 14 at the rear of the hall. Outside the sports season, access to Hall B is via the rear gate with a season ticket or a single ticket.

Hall C

Hall C has a full-size football field (100 x 64 m) with artificial turf. Hall C's reservation slots can be viewed in the Timmi booking system. The entrance to the hall is through the main doors of the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, unless the entrance is in use for another event, in which case the hall can be accessed through the end doors.

Hall D

Hall D is equipped with two full-size futsal fields (40 x 20 m), one field with a Finnish baseball net, and one floorball field. Hall reservations can be viewed in the Timmi booking system. The entrance to the hall is through the main doors of the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre, unless the entrance is in use for another event, in which case the hall can be accessed through the end doors.

During the sports season, athletes have access to the hall's changing rooms, which are located in the maintenance corridors adjacent to the halls. There is a limited number of lockable storage lockers at the entrance to Hall A.

  • The café in the main lobby serves athletes mainly in the evenings and during sporting events during the winter season.

Tramway construction progresses - traffic arrangements are expanding

The Pirkkala-Linnainmaa alliance of Tampere Tramway is building a tramway in Hatanpää, Härmälä and Partola, and work has started on the relocation and renewal of Hatanpään valtatie and Viinikanlahti bridge.

When travelling to Ilmailukatu, please note that a roundabout has been introduced at the junction of Tampereen valtatie and Hatanpään valtatie and that the number of single-lane sections of Hatanpään valtatie has increased.

When arriving from the north/central direction, charter buses should use Lempääläntie (3495) instead of Hatanpään valtatie. Due to the single-lane sections, traffic on Hatanpään valtatie may become congested in places. Hatanpään valtatie will gradually become the final situation for the tramway, with one lane in each direction.

Passing from Nuolialantie to Tampere and/or Partola will be prohibited throughout the construction.
