Christmas, New Year, and Epiphany affect the opening hours of Tampere libraries during 23-26 Dec, 31 Dec - 1 Jan, and 5-6 Jan. Self-service libraries will be open as usual. There are exceptions to the self-service opening hours at Lielahti and Vuores. Check the libraries' opening hours for possible exceptions at your library.

The current Nekala Library closed from 8 Dec, 2025
The operations of Nekala Library in its current premises ended on 7 December, after which preparations will begin for the library’s move to new facilities. The new Nekala Library will open in the spring of 2026 in the upcoming Nekala Cultural Centre.

The building is circular in shape, and the entrances are located on the Hämeenpuisto side. You can walk around the entire building via a separated pathway that leads directly to the main entrance ramp and, on the other side, to the accessible entrance.
