Library card

You can get a library card and the PIN code from all PIKI libraries. Take a photo ID with you. You can print and fill out the card application form in advance. The first library card is free of charge. 

Under 15-year-olds can get a library card with a written consent from their guardian. The guardian is responsible for the material loaned using a library card for a person under 15 years of age. You can print and fill out the card application form for under 15-year-old customers in advance. 

The library card is always personal, so you are responsible for its use and the material loaned using the card. For more detailed information on access rights, user responsibilities and privacy, see the library's rules of use.

The library card has a four-digit PIN code. You need it for library services. For example when you loan books or other library material using a self-service machine. Or if you use other library services like PIKI online library or Tampere's self-service libraries.

You can personally get the PIN code from all PIKI libraries, and you can decide it yourself. 

You can change the PIN code in the PIKI online library on the Profile page. To change it, you need to know its old PIN code. If you forget your PIN code, you can check it at the library. Bring a photo ID with you.

Report the lost card immediately. You can report it to your local library, or the Main Library Metso's customer services.

According to the rules of use, the card holder is responsible for all material loaned using the card until the card has been reported lost. 

If a library card has been reported lost, it cannot be used. The new library card is subject to a fee of €2.00.

The electronic library card can be found from your account information in the PIKI online library. You need to sign in in order to find it. Tampere.Finland application also include an electronic library card that is easily accessible on your device. The app is available for free from app stores for iOS and Android devices. 

An electronic library card works like a standard library card: It can be used to loan material on self-service machines, or open the doors of a self-service library by showing your electronic library card to the reader and entering your four-digit PIN code. However, the electronic library card does not replace the physical library card but complements it.
