Children's Gallery: Night Bug Art
24.10.-23.11.2025
What kinds of bugs can be seen in the garden at night? Are they huge or tiny? All the art works in the drawing competition organized by the WeGenerate project and the Children's Cultural Centre Rulla are on display at the Culture House Laikku's Corridor Gallery.
Last spring, the Night Bugs drawing competition sought art works for the lighting of the Laikunlava auditorium. The artists whose works were selected for the lighting are aged 3–11, and the theme of the works was night bugs. The works selected for the lighting will be unveiled as part of Tampere Light Week on Friday, October 24.
The idea of the drawing competition was transformation and change (for example, a caterpillar turning into a butterfly), which symbolizes how the environment and people can grow together in a new direction. One of the goals of the WeGenerate project is to increase the attractiveness, walkability, and accessibility of the Laikunlava area. The lighting is being implemented by the City of Tampere, and WhiteNight Lighting Oy has been involved in the design. The Laikunlava Night Bugs lighting will be on display until February 22, 2026.
The lighting and the Children's Gallery exhibition are part of the Rulla 20th anniversary celebration program.
Come celebrate with us!
