- Recruitment subsidy can be granted to a young person under the age of 30 who has been unemployed for at least six months and is a jobseeker when the youth recruitment contract is made.
- Recruitment subsidy can also be granted after only three months of unemployment if the young person has completed only basic education.
- The young person’s municipality of residence must be within the Tampere region employment area. Area includes the following municipalities: Akaa, Juupajoki, Kangasala, Kuhmoinen, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Pälkäne, Ruovesi, Tampere, Urjala, Valkeakoski, Vesilahti, Virrat and Ylöjärvi.
- The young person must be a registered job seeker in the Tampere region employment area.
- The application for the recruitment subsidy is submitted by a representative of the employer.
- The employer must commit to employing the young person for at least six months.
- The salary paid to the young person must follow the applicable collective agreement. If no collective agreement applies, the employer must pay a normal and reasonable salary.
- The subsidy covers half of the wage costs, up to a maximum of 1 500 euros per month.
- The subsidy cannot be granted for hiring a young person whose salary costs or recruitment have already been supported with a wage subsidy, recruitment subsidy or municipal supplement, if less than three years have passed since the previous subsidy ended.
Youth recruitment subsidy
Youth recruitment subsidy helps employers hire unemployed young people under the age of 30 by providing financial support for recruitment.
An employer can receive 50 % of salary costs for six months, up to 1 500 euros per month.
The application period for employers will open in late March.

This discretionary subsidy is intended for employers engaged in business activities, and it can be applied for until early January 2027, subject to the availability of funds.
The young person’s employment contract
- must be at least six months in duration
- must be full-time or part-time
- when part-time, the minimum hours are 25 hours per week
The subsidy is paid to the employer retroactively in two batches: after three months and after six months. The employer invoices the subsidy afterwards based on payroll documentation.
