Afternoon activities at schools

Afternoon activities are intended for students in grades 1 and 2, as well as older students who have a special support decision. Additionally, children in bilingual preschool education organized by basic education can participate in afternoon activities.

Afternoon activities support the child's growth, development, and safe leisure time. Activities include outdoor play, games, rest, and homework.

The afternoon activities are guided by the City of Tampere’s municipal-level operational plan, approved by Kasvatus- ja opetuslautakunta, including the principles for organizing the activities (FI).

In Tampere afternoon activities are organized by the city and private operators. The city financially supports private operators and monitors the quality of activities.
