Safety on the way to school

Walking and cycling to school reduces traffic in the school environment and increases traffic safety. The City of Tampere encourages active and sustainable modes of transport. The City of Tampere's transport system planning department has produced information packages on safe school journeys for various schools. The aim is to produce information packages for all schools in Tampere, which the schools are free to use. The information package includes a map showing recommended routes for walking and cycling, as well as places where preschoolers can be dropped off by car.
