Outdoor food sales and mobile operations
Mobile food premises include mobile kiosks, mobile sales vehicles, marquees, market stalls and trailers. They are used to sell and serve food in marketplaces and at events, fairs and similar. Entrepreneurs and vendors can also tour different municipalities.
Notification of food business
A food business operator must submit a registration notification of mobile food business to the food control authority in the operator’s municipality of residence once four weeks before the operations commence or a material change takes place in them. If the operator does not have a municipality of residence in Finland, the registration is processed by the municipality in which the food business will be commenced.
Visit the Finnish Food Authority's website to check which activities are subject to registration with the food control authority.
Events
Event organisers should inform the Food Control Unit as early as possible of upcoming events and provide a list of food business operators that will be present.
