Safety feedback and development suggestions

Handling traffic safety feedback

The City of Tampere receives 150–250 pieces of feedback each year requesting traffic calming measures. All traffic calming feedback is processed according to the same principle, which is described in the document "Traffic Calming Policy in Tampere." The document also describes various traffic calming measures. The city uses a specially developed form to score traffic calming feedback, which you can view in the PDF form below (only in Finnish):

Requests for new pedestrian crossings are also received regularly. In order to establish a new pedestrian crossing, there must be a sufficient number of users and the possibility to make the crossing safe. Read more about pedestrian crossings.

Making improvement suggestions

Requests for measures to improve traffic safety can be sent by email to the Tampere service point, for example, from where they will be forwarded to the appropriate authority via the feedback system. You will receive a reply with a reference number, which you can use to find messages related to your request at a later date. To facilitate the processing of your matter, we ask that you only include one item per message and that the content of your suggestion is clearly stated in the message (e.g., address, map, photo).
