Bicycle parking and services
There are several thousand bike racks in public areas of the city of Tampere. Bike racks can be found along the streets, in parks, squares and recreational areas. Bike racks will be provided as much as possible, but especially where there is great demand for them: near services and activities and at the main public transport stops and stations.
Secure bicycle parking is one of the key factors that encourage cycling, which is why the city wants to invest in bicycle parking. The City of Tampere adds and improves bicycle parking by several hundred bike racks every year. We are installing new bike racks and replacing old racks with safer racks that enable locking the bike from frame to rack. Our goal is to make bicycle parking even better to accommodate different needs, such as parking for cargo bikes.
At the railway station there is a bicycle parking service called BikeBox, where customers can park their bicycles in a separate locked area for a fee. For more information about the service, visit its website.
When parking your bike, prefer bike racks where possible. If there are no racks, ensure that parking does not inconvenience others.

Bicycle services
At the eastern end of Rongankatu, next to the underpass, there is a public bike pump, which is free for everyone to use. In addition, several bike shops offer a tire-pumping service.
