Parking fine

Before submitting a review request, check the reasons for the parking fine, the vehicle registration number, and the photographs taken by the parking enforcement officer.

In Your request for an administrative review, please include:

• Your name and address
• Your bank account number
• The case number of the parking penalty charge
• Your vehicle registration number
• The reasons for your request

When submitting Your contact information, you agree to its storage and use in accordance with the City of Tampere’s privacy policy.

Please attach any documents that support Your case.

A transferred vehicle will be released to the registered owner or holder once all outstanding parking fines issued for the vehicle, as well as all towing and storage fees, have been paid.

To reclaim a vehicle, the owner or holder must contact Parking Enforcement Customer Service.

For passenger cars and vans transferred to storage due to at least five final parking violations, the following fees apply from 1 January 2026:

• 250 euros per transfer on weekdays between 7 am and 4 pm
• 330 euros per transfer on weekdays between 4 pm and 7 am, and on weekends and public holidays
• 50 euros per started week for storage

An additional 40 euro fee is charged for towing an electric vehicle.

When paying for parking with a mobile app, make sure that the correct vehicle registration number is entered. The parking session must be activated for the correct vehicle.

The parking fine must be paid by the due date. If payment is late, a statutory surcharge of 14 euros will be added to the fine.

The average processing time is about one month, but it may vary depending on the number of cases being handled.

No. Submitting a request for an administrative review does not extend the payment due date. As processing may take more than a month, the fine should be paid by the due date to avoid a surcharge.

If your request is accepted, the amount paid will be refunded automatically to the bank account provided in your request.

If a parking area is marked as paid parking, the parking fee must be paid. The failure of a particular payment method does not remove the obligation to pay.

In most cases, a parking fine is attached to the vehicle in a visible location, usually under a windscreen wiper, unless it can be handed directly to the driver. Parking enforcement officers also use mobile devices to check vehicle registration numbers, which may appear as if they are taking photographs.
