Well-being of children and young people

Around 15% of Tampere's population are children and young people under the age of 18. Many of the city's services are aimed directly or indirectly at them. Daycare centres, schools, youth work and other services promote and support the well-being of children and young people. Urban planning also plays a role in enhancing their well-being.

The city monitors the well-being of children and young people in various ways. While most of them and their families are doing well, many still face challenges related to social relationships, safety, lifestyle, mental health and parenting. The Tampere Child and Youth Well-being Plan aims to address these issues.

The key findings of the Tampere Child and Youth Welfare Plan have been compiled in a short animated video Towards a better tomorrow. The video is in Finnish.
