Entry ends and cashier services close 1 hour 15 minutes before closing time, and you must leave the pool area 30 minutes before closing time.

Future competition events at the swimming center, changes to opening hours are possible and will be announced closer to the time of the event.

The route to the main entrance

The 4 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors over 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is at least 3.6 m. The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement. The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance. The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with an opening button.

In the facility

The entrance, sports facilities and dressing rooms are located on the same floor. The service point has directions to the different facilities. There is a heated storage area for wheelchairs and prams next to the entrance. There is an accessible toilet in the lobby or nearby public area. The customer service/cashier's desk can be found easily. The desk has sections of varying heights and is accessible to customers sitting down or standing. At the customer service/cashier's desk, you can borrow a wheelchair, shower wheelchair, rollator walker.

Dressing room, shower room and sauna

The swimming centre also has a separate accessible changing room, shower room, and sauna. Reservations must be made in advance by calling the swimming hall's front desk at 040 0907808. The accessible dressing room is located in connection to the men's/women's dressing rooms. The door of the dressing room opens automatically with an opening button. In the dressing room, the door of the accessible section opens automatically with an opening button. The accessible dressing room features a dressing bench and sufficient room for an assistant. Good illumination and clear contrasts facilitate spatial perception. The numbering of the lockers is clearly legible. The shower room is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door of the shower room opens easily manually. The shower room has a more spacious and accessible showering spot with a seat and armrest as well as a support railing. The sauna is connected to the men's/women's dressing room. The door opens easily manually. The sauna has room for two wheelchairs. It is possible to move onto the lowest bench from the wheelchair. The upper benches can be accessed through easily navigable stepswith handrails.

Sports facilities

Room is available next to the pools for storing aids during swimming. The handrails on the wall facilitate navigating the pool area. The large/deep pool features accessible entry via a pool lift. The children's pool features accessible entry via a pool lift. The teaching pool does not feature accessible entry (steep steps or a pool ladder). An accessible toilet is available in the pool area. Accessible pathways from the indoor areas to the outdoor pools are available.

Seating area

The sports facility features a spectators' seating area whose stairs have handrails on both sides. The seats have been highlighted from their surroundings with contrast. The seating area does not have accessible spots for wheelchairs. For accessing the upper section of the seating area, a lift is available that can hold a wheelchair, and whose door opens automatically. The floor numbers in the lift can be determined by touch. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)

There's a lane and equipment for water running. The virtual water gymnastics screen is located at the shallow end of the 50 m pool.

- two 1 m springboards

The pools are available for both competitive and fitness swimmers. The design of the training pool also makes it possible to use it for hydrobics. The diving pool can also be used for water polo, and its dimensions make it suitable for international water polo matches.

The glass mosaic artwork on the bases of the diving towers was designed and created by artist Tuula Lehtinen.

Gym

The swimming pool has a well-equipped gym, which is generally open during the pool's opening hours. The Sports Services’ exercise groups may use the gym at times, which may cause congestion. The age limit for general use of the City of Tampere gyms is 15 years.

The door of the gym opens automatically with an opening button. Unobstructed mobility with a wheelchair or other aids is possible in the gym. The equipment can also be accessed with aids. Some of the equipment can be used from a wheelchair. The equipment is within everyone's reach (storage height 0.8-1.2 m). The gym features contrast differences between the floor and wall. There is glare in the gym.

Cafeteria and facilities for rent

Cafe Kaleva is located in the Tampere Swimming Centre and is open during the opening hours of the swimming pool. Cafe Kaleva also rents out the lecture rooms upstairs for meetings and other gatherings.

Frequently asked questions

The gym has its own changing rooms, so you can use the gym even without going to the pool. The customer has 15 minutes to change in the swimming pool changing room, return through the boom and go to the gym through the gym boom. Back to the swimming pool changing rooms the same way; the system can automatically check that the customer is returning from the gym.
