Safety at school

Well-being measurements

Schools monitor well-being using tools such as school health questionnaires and well-being questionnaires. Every school makes use of these tools to monitor pupils’ daily life and ability to cope.

Code of conduct

The school code of conduct promotes order within the school, unimpeded learning, and safety and positive experiences in the school community. The code of conduct applies in all work done in the school.

Jointly agreed class rules

Each class in the school will agree on their own set of rules, intended to both prevent bullying and to enable effective interventions after problems occur.

Team building

Building team and class spirit is an activity that is part of school life daily and throughout the school year. Continuous team building efforts enhance group capabilities, improve the mood of the school, and create an increased sense of security.

The Someturva app

Tampere makes use of the Someturva app to protect the entirety of the school community from harassment and bullying on social media. The app is available for pupils in grades 7 through 9 in all schools. Through the app, each pupil can ask for help with various difficulties they may encounter online in an anonymous, confidential fashion.

TREturva

This online service is available in all City of Tampere basic education schools and gathers information related to school safety in one convenient place. The service is available to school safety teams, the personnel at large, and pupils. Each user category has different content made available. Schools will provide more specific instructions to pupils to make use of the service. The objective is to make safety-related information easily available in everyday school life.
