Move! - Supporting physical functional capacity

Move! is a national measurement and feedback system for physical fitness aimed at students in grades 5 and 8 of basic education. Its main purpose is to encourage self-care of physical fitness.

Move! measurement results are utilized, for example, in school physical education, health check-ups organized by school health care, and in the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of national, regional, and local welfare measures.

In Tampere, Move! -measurements are carried out during September, but in exceptional cases, measurements can also be conducted at other times. It is important for the guardian and the student to familiarize themselves with Move! measurements in advance. Move! measurement results are discussed with the guardian at home, and the result form is returned to the school.

The student's Move! results are discussed in comprehensive health check-ups together with the student and the guardian. If necessary, the nurse will guide the student and the guardian to the city's opportunities for physical activity and hobbies or to exercise counseling. You can also book an appointment for exercise counseling yourself.
