City bike season starts on 15 April – station network expands in the city centre and Kaleva
Station network expands – around 60 new stations
Around 60 new city bike stations will be introduced in the city centre and Kaleva. The new stations will be installed lightly, either next to existing bicycle parking or in other suitable locations, meaning city bikes may be placed among regular bicycles.
The densification of the station network in the central areas is expected to make everyday travel more convenient. With stations located closer to common starting points and destinations, using the service becomes easier and more effortless for a growing number of riders.
The new stations will be marked with small information signs, and in some locations no separate signage will be used. Once the season begins, all stations will be visible in the Tampereen kaupunkipyörät app and in the Nysse journey planner.
As the station network grows, operations will require more forecasting and fine‑tuning. Bike availability may vary temporarily between stations, but the situation will be monitored closely and operations will be adjusted as needed.
Pricing and access rights remain unchanged
There will be no changes to access rights or pricing. A full season pass, valid until 31 October, still costs €30. The monthly pass (30 days) is priced at €10, and a 24‑hour pass costs €5. In addition, single trips can be made with a €2 one‑ride fee.
Companies and organisations can purchase city bike access rights for employees as group orders. Access rights can also be purchased with the Epassi commuter benefit. The employer‑provided city bike benefit is tax‑free in the same way as the commuter benefit.
Season starts on 15 April
The city bike season starts on 15 April 2026, and access rights can be purchased in the Tampereen kaupunkipyörät app from 10 April onwards.
