Construction work on Horisonttiaukio to begin in early September
Construction work on Horisonttiaukio in Ranta-Tampella will begin on 1 September 2026. As part of the project, the existing roundabout will be removed and replaced with a new T-junction. The construction site will cause changes to traffic arrangements in the area as the work progresses.
The project at Horisonttiaukio will include improvements to local traffic arrangements. In addition to the new T-junction replacing the roundabout, the square will undergo kerb and stonework installations, resurfacing, and landscaping works.
The work will proceed in phases, with some stages continuing until spring 2027.
Traffic arrangements in the area will change during the construction period. People in the area are asked to exercise particular caution and follow all construction site arrangements and signage.
The contractor for the project is VRJ Länsi-Suomi Oy.
