The grant may be awarded for purposes such as building and developing collaboration networks among cultural and arts organizations, as well as for experimentation and the development of working methods. These may include new operational models, concepts, or spatial solutions. The grant can also be used for expertise development and applying for EU funding. The grant must be used during the year 2026, even if the project continues beyond that.
The grant is not intended for the basic activities of organizations, which are primarily supported by general grants. It is also not awarded for the production of artistic works, recordings, or publications, nor can it be used to finance investments or the acquisition or renovation of fixed or movable assets. The grant is not intended for business activities or operations where potential profits benefit the owners.
Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations based in Tampere that are either registered or have verifiably submitted a registration application. The costs of the development project must be traceable in the organization’s accounting under a separate cost center. The grant may cover up to 80% of the approved expenses of the development project, and the typical grant amounts range from €2,000 to €10,000.
Decisions regarding the grants will be made during 2025. The evaluation is guided by the general principles of Tampere’s grant activities and the criteria for awarding cultural grants approved by the Culture and Leisure Committee, available at www.tampere.fi/avustukset. Applications must be submitted via the electronic application form available from September 1, 2025, at www.tampere.fi/kulttuurinkehittamisavustus. Applications are considered submitted on time if they are received in the electronic database by Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 3:45 PM. Applicants must include a project plan, budget, and financing plan with their application.
