The artists of the exhibition Johanna Ali-Tolppa, Hannakaisa Hautamäki, Minna Lumiluoto, Terhi Mäkkylä, Pirje Seppälä, Terhi Ulonen and Pirjo Virtanen have studied together at the Pirkan Opisto adult art school. The theme of the exhibition is Rewilding, a concept that describes the restorative actions of nature loss.
Rewilding is a global term for the repair of habitat loss where native vegetation has lost its vitality, but other species can still thrive in the environment. On the other hand, the same phenomenon can be seen in terms of the human inner world and the process of creating a work of art, for example.
The artists in the exhibition also want to show the creativity and artistry that has developed during their studies at the college, and therefore has run wild in their painting. Rewilding can also be an inner experience of the need to renew oneself, to release energy or to let go of an inner self stuck by external demands. The exhibition asks; what died or disappeared because I had to choose the choices I made before? The number of choices in an individual's life is often limited, you can't have everything, certainly not at the same time, but is it possible to reincarnate something that has already seemed lost?
