– The skills of our staff have been – and will remain – central to the way our city operates, delivers services and develops. No one should be in any doubt about the important work we do, said Marju Leinonen, Head of Human Resources Development.

The awards were presented in five categories: customer focus, work community, climate impact, special mentions and others. The purpose of the Staff Development Award is to support and encourage staff creativity and enthusiasm to develop their own work.

– Particularly in these challenging times, it is particularly important to foster an inspiring, positive atmosphere and the courage to experiment. Insights and development work are done in small everyday steps as well as in larger reforms, where city employees work together in a multidisciplinary way and across organisational boundaries to find new customer-oriented solutions to develop services, increase effectiveness and improve well-being at work, said Leinonen.

The prize money for the competition was 20 000 euros. The winners were photographed at the awards ceremony in the Town Hall, and some of the winners were unable to attend the ceremony.
