Apply for a community grant to Sustainability Challenges until 30 September

Communities and residents in the Tampere region can apply for the "Citizens’ Solutions to Sustainability Challenges" community grant through the Urban Prosumers project.

Solutions from City Residents to Sustainability Challenges - The community grant is intended for local experiments and solutions implemented by communities and residents in the Tampere region themselves, related to climate-resilient mobility, energy, and/or food in Tampere. The community grant is part of the URBAN PROSUMERS project. 

Basic Information on the Community Grant Application

• Call title: Community Grant for City Residents’ Solutions to Sustainability Challenges
• Application period: 1 July - 30 September 2026
• Implementation period: Between 1 February and 30 September 2027
• Duration: The duration of the community project receiving the grant may be up to 8 months
• Amount requested: A minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 60,000 euros per grant
• Total funding available: 180,000 euros
• Who can apply: Eligible applicants include non-profit organisations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), micro-enterprises, start-ups, and cooperatives in the Tampere region.
• The applicant organisation must be based in one of the municipalities of the Tampere City Region (Tampere, Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Vesilahti, and Ylöjärvi). The solutions and experiments of the community project must be focused on Tampere.

A grant may be awarded for activities that produce one or more of the following outcomes:

• Climate-resilient practices, services, or models related to transportation, energy, or food that benefit people, communities, or living environments in Tampere
• Technological innovations that enable people to both produce and use climate-resilient solutions
• New funding models for community climate actions
• New approaches to engaging residents in the creation and use of sustainable solutions
• New insights into what hinders or enables people’s participation in creating and using sustainable solutions
• New forms of collaboration between residents and local organizations for climate action
• Business opportunities and ideas for the Tampere region related to climate-resilient transportation, energy, or food

Grant decisions will be made in December 2026, and applicants will be notified of the decisions by 31 December 2026.
