Hervanta Library elevator renovation starts Mon 27 October – duration 5-6 weeks

The removal of the old elevator and the installation of the new elevator will cause noise disturbance during the first couple of weeks, but the rest of the work will be quieter. The installers work mainly in the lift shaft behind closed doors. The library will be open as normal throughout the renovation.

The library is not accessible during renovation work

During the elevator renovation, there will be no barrier-free access to the Hervanta Library. Disabled customers can call the library's customer service on 040 800 7802 to arrange library services. The staff will assist, for example, by bringing the customer's reservations to the 1st floor and assisting with stairs, if the customer is able to do so with assistance.

The renovation of the elevator will affect the library's events

For events that fall during the renovation, we will work to modify the space to allow for accessibility. However, not all events will be accommodated.
