The renovation of the facade of the Hervanta library building started in September 2024 and is expected to continue for about a year. The work started with repairs to the roof and underground drains. The renovation will cause noise disturbance in the library and access to the library will have to be redirected at times via temporary access bridges. However, access to the library will be through the main doors throughout the renovation.
The disabled parking spaces in front of the library building are currently out of use due to the renovation of the facade, and no replacement parking for customers can be arranged. The bike park next to the library entrance is also temporarily out of use due to drainage digging. Please take note of the changes when you come to the library.
At the turn of September and October, work began on replacing the upper windows, which will have an impact on the layout of the library and access to materials. Parts of the library have to be temporarily closed to customers as work progresses, so not all shelves are always accessible. There may also be outages of several days in the piano and multi-function rooms, computers and customer toilets.
We will provide more information on the changes as the work progresses.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the renovation!
