Page content in brief

The parkour area in Kaleva Central Park features a variety of materials and climbing equipment that you can use to make your way along by running, jumping, climbing, balancing and hanging.

Location on map

A parkour area was opened in Kaleva Central Park in autumn 2025. It is the first extensive and versatile parkour area in Tampere. The parkour area is located near the traffic park, to the east of it.

Parkour combines various disciplines such as running, climbing and acrobatics. In parkour, participants can use their bodies creatively and freely.

The area can be slippery in winter and when it rains, so please take care when using it.

The main objectives of parkour

  • Fast and fluid movement: the sport involves overcoming obstacles such as various types of fences, railings, walls and platforms without stopping.
  • Body control and strength: the sport develops balance, coordination and muscular fitness.
  • Creativity and independence: everyone can develop their own style and route for moving forward.

Basketball court

Next to the parkour area there is also an outdoor basketball court with boundary lines. The court has two basketball hoops. The court is suitable for both team games and individual training.
