Developing a model for cultural work in residential areas

The "Developing a model for cultural activities in residential areas" project aims to develop cultural activities that take into account the needs and specificities of residential areas. The aim of the work, which is part of the urban development and well-being development programme, is to strengthen the well-being and territorial equity of urban residents. The project started in September 2024 and will end in May 2026.

We are collecting ideas and wishes from Tampere residents at the Residents' Evenings and through enquiries. This will ensure that the new model meets the needs of the citizens and reinforces the distinctiveness of the neighbourhoods.

Take part and tell us about your experience. How do you participate in culture in Tampere?

Sat 1 Nov at 14:00–16:00 – Autumn Family Hike at Suolijärvi

Both hikes take place in the Suolijärvi area.
Meeting point: Suolijärvi outdoor hut, Suolijärvenkatu 7.

The Tuesday walk is intended for adults and young adults. The Saturday walk is for families with children.

Welcome to a guided forest walk into the darkening autumn evening. We’ll explore Finnish nature and walk together in a natural environment for about 3 km at a relaxed pace. During the walk, we’ll use our senses to observe nature and discuss nature-related topics. No previous experience in hiking is needed – curiosity and shared time are what matter most.

Please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather, and wear good shoes. If you have a headlamp or flashlight at home, feel free to bring it along.
