Tampere City's International Talent Attraction and Migration service
branch supports the settlement of international experts in the region,
encourages employers to utilize international experts for business
growth, and steers job seekers with an immigrant background towards open
labour markets. The aim of the International Talent Attraction and
Migration service is to attract international experts from abroad, to
strengthen the international brand of Tampere in the eyes of the

The International Tampere Skills Centre aims at speeding up the employment process of immigrants by bringing together services that promote integration.
This includes the development of tailored educational
paths and support measures for immigrants, who are looking for work or a place to study. The Skills Centre enables
multidisciplinary cooperation across sectoral lines and offers a range of services that support the
employment and guidance for the training of immigrants residing in Tampere.
Mainio offers multilingual information and guidance services for all
immigrants who seek information and advice on different topics of everyday life. Customers are currently served in 16 different languages. All of Mainio's advisors also speak Finnish.
The International Tampere Hub promotes international awareness of the
Tampere region, brings together services aimed at companies and
international experts on a one-stop-shop basis, and develops
international partnership networks and cooperation between the higher
education institutes and business networks.
Other Services Available for International Experts
Target project is part of the International Tampere Skills
Centre’s activities. The project focuses on immigrants with
special needs (including asylum seekers) and aims at developing learning assessments and tools to identify specific needs. Target also aims at assessing immigrants' work and study abilities and developing student mentoring / tutor activities as well as guidance for the right
educational paths. One of the project goals is also to develop digital tools
that support integration and employment.
The City of Tampere is promoting services and encouraging international background entrepreneurs in their business activity by organizing Pop-up info desk at Tribe Tampere. The Pop-up info desk offers advice, guidance or practical help on business matters every Wednesday from 12:00 to 16:00.
Startup Refugees in a non-profit voluntary network which supports,
asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants to find a job or start an own
company in Finland. Startup Refugees has already offered more than 700
