Building drawings now available through Tapsa online service

The Tapsa service allows you to search for building drawings easily, securely, and faster than before. Main drawings are needed by builders, designers, and real estate agents, for example.

The City of Tampere has published an electronic service where users can search for and download building drawings for building sites located in Tampere. These drawings have been archived as part of the building permit processes.

The main drawings are needed, for example, by builders carrying out repairs and alterations, researchers, housing companies, and real estate agents. The city receives around 2,400 requests for building drawings every year.

Currently, the Tapsa service contains main drawings from building permits up to 2016. The city aims to publish, during the current year, also the main drawings and special plans that have been electronically archived from 2017 onwards. After this, the service will offer main drawings from the late 19th century to the present day, and special plans from 2017 onwards. Some public buildings are excluded from the service for security reasons.

Authenticate, pay and download your drawings

You can search for main drawings in Tapsa using the map view or by entering an address, property identifier, permit number or building ID. If the required documents are not available in the service, you can submit an information request to the City Archive directly through Tapsa.

A service fee is charged for the delivery of documents, which can be paid securely using online banking credentials.

More detailed drawings on the way

Tapsa is a fully rebuilt version of the viewing and sales service that was discontinued in 2022. The user friendly service will continue to be developed further.

The city is gradually replacing old main drawings scanned from microfilm with newly digitised versions scanned from the original paper documents. This will significantly improve the accuracy and readability of the digital drawings. The aim is to update the newly digitised materials to the service during 2026.

Main drawings can also be searched and viewed for free at the Tampere service point and at the City archive, where customer terminals are available. During 2026, the current customer terminal application will be replaced with Tapsa’s new service section, which will also provide access to a wider range of digitally archived materials from 2017 onwards.
