It’s time to vote on the Mansen Massit Community Grant

The Mansen Massit Community Grant vote is open for two weeks, from 27 October to 9 November 2025. During this period, Tampere residents will choose which initiatives that support a sustainable and well-functioning everyday life will receive funding in 2026. A total of €100,000 is available to be distributed among the selected ideas.

In the Mansen Massit vote, Tampere residents are directly involved in funding decisions – the voting results determine which proposed activities and events will be granted funding. There’s plenty to choose from: 63 proposals have been submitted by a wide range of communities across the city.

– Voting is worthwhile because it allows you to support something you personally find important – maybe even an activity you’d like to take part in yourself. Voters get to choose from a fantastic selection of community-based actions, says Lotta Harsunen, Planning Officer at the City of Tampere.

Each voting option includes the applicant’s name, the amount of funding requested, and a short description of the proposed activity or event.

Every voter has three votes to allocate to their favourite proposals. All residents of Tampere are entitled to vote.

Vote online or at the library

Voting is available via the city’s website. To vote electronically, you’ll need to provide your email address, which will be used to send you a personal voting link.

Go to the Mansen Massit Community Grant voting page

Voters will be asked to provide some background information, such as their name, age, and postcode. These details are collected for statistical purposes and to ensure that each person votes only once.

Based on feedback from last year, the electronic voting platform has been improved to be more user-friendly. Voters can now filter proposals by theme and area.

Voting is also available at eight libraries across the city. Libraries provide a list of voting options and a paper ballot. Voters using the paper form will also be asked to provide background information.

You can vote at the following libraries during their staffed opening hours:

•    Metso Main Library, Pirkankatu 2, Tampere
•    Hervanta Library, Insinöörinkatu 38, Tampere
•    Kaukajärvi Library, Käätykatu 6, Tampere
•    Koilliskeskus Library, Liikekatu 3, Tampere

Sustainability and community action

In 2025, the Mansen Massit Community Grant could be applied for activities that promote both community spirit and climate and nature goals. Themes include biodiversity, environmentally friendly food and urban farming, sustainable mobility, and circular and sharing economy.

– Tampere communities have come up with exciting, diverse and even surprising ideas related to the theme! It’s worth exploring these great options, voting for your favourites, and later joining the activities, encourages Jarno Koskinen, Regional coordinator at the City of Tampere.

The Mansen Massit Community Grant will be awarded to the activities that receive the most votes. Results will be published at the end of 2025.

Funded activities can be carried out throughout 2026. All activities are open to everyone and free of charge.
