The new Tasanne early childhood education and care centre  opened on August 5, 2024. Tasanteen early childhood education and care centre  operates within its catchment areas. These catchment areas are Kaikukallio, Satumetsä, Mörrikivi, and Taikalampi. In addition, the facility includes the Olkahinen early childhood education and care centre , which has four groups and two preschool groups located in the Olkahinen school building.

There are 6 adults working in each neighborhood, and the children are divided into 3–6 small groups, depending on the activity. The adults work in pairs and rotate through each small group.

The theme at Tasante is outdoor education. Outdoor education is planned activity that encompasses all areas of learning. We learn new skills and concepts through physical and hands-on activities. We use the local environment as a learning environment. We encourage children to engage in daily physical activity in various settings. Educators move around together with the children and lead physical activities and traditional games. Each home area has sports equipment available for the children. We use them in a variety of ways, both indoors and outdoors, as learning tools. And best of all, we now have our own gym.

Welcome to our beautiful daycare center!

Our Daycare Center’s Practices

At 6:00 a.m., we gather in the green area of Satumetsä, from where we proceed to our respective home areas.

When arriving at and leaving the daycare center, it is absolutely essential to check in with the staff. The transfer of responsibility between parents and staff takes place during check-in. In the morning or afternoon, children may be cared for by adults from another home area.

Absences

Please notify eVaka or the staff in your home area of your child’s absences as early as possible.

Safety

To ensure the children’s safety, it is very important that the gates are kept closed. We ask parents to pay attention to this, even if there are no children in the yard at the time of entry.

Operating Hours

During school breaks, we operate on a reduced schedule or close the daycare center. There is no preschool during school breaks. We will inquire about childcare needs regarding our operating hours, as we schedule staff vacations to coincide with school breaks.

Cooperation with families

In early childhood education, a child’s care reservations, care times, and changes in care needs are reported via the eVaka app. Reservations must be made by the following Monday. Meal orders are automatically processed based on the children’s care reservations.

Cooperation between early childhood education and families is based on open communication. Before starting, a care agreement is drawn up for each child. Daily contact and early childhood education discussions are the most important forms of cooperation. Discussions are held with guardians every school year.

The day consists of the following elements

Imagination and play
Experiences and stories
Safety and a range of emotions
Perseverance and hugs
Intelligent insights and wonder

Continuity and shared joy
Recognizing uniquenessand being active

Relaxation, joy, and nourishing food
Curiosityand sleep
Boldnessand belief in one’s own abilities
Goal-orientednessand the joy of working together

The yard, the forest, and other nearby environments are excellent places for learning and create lifelong experiences for children.
