Tampere's city-wide Parents' evening focuses on safe summer holidays for young people

The Tampere City will hold a city-wide parents' evening on Wednesday 20.5.2026 from 18-19 at Culture House Laikku Idealinna. The event can also be followed live by asking questions and making comments via chat.

A city-wide Parents' evening will discuss the importance of summer for the well-being and safety of young people. Summer is a time when young people's daily routines change, increasing leisure time and emphasising the importance of friendships, among other things. The Parents' evening will discuss how parents can support young people to have a safe and happy summer.

Panelists include Tiina-Liisa Vehkalahti, Director of Youth Services, Eeva-Maria Tahvanainen, Detective Inspector and Miila Halonsaari, Youth Psychiatrist. The parents' evening discussion will be moderated by Henri Rikander, Head of Security at the City of Tampere Education Services .
