Nysse Annual Report 2025 published – growth continued and the economy was proactively balanced
The tram began operating to Lentävänniemi on January 7, and the new connecting bus lines particularly strengthened the position of Hiedanranta station as a significant transfer point. Passenger numbers grew again, with 55.8 million journeys made in 2025.
Nysse ranked at the top of the European BEST survey: 84 percent of respondents were satisfied with Nysse's services.
During the year, a new super bus concept was also promoted, which combines the smoothness of a tram with the flexibility of a bus in a cost-effective way.
Economic challenges were addressed proactively. The operating margin for public transport was approximately €2 million better than budgeted, partly by cutting back on areas and times of low demand.
"The results for 2025 provide a good starting point for 2026. Growth, customer satisfaction, and financial balance are not mutually exclusive goals—with the right solutions, we can promote them all at the same time," says Mika Periviita, Director of Public Transport.
