Nysse traffic reaches record levels of popularity and customer satisfaction
2025 was a successful year for Nysse: passenger numbers increased and customer satisfaction remained high.
In 2025, a total of 55,8 million trips were made in Nysse, which is 3.9% more than in the previous year (53.7 million trips). The popularity of tram transport increased particularly strongly, with 20.5 million trips, representing 37% of all Nysse trips (16.6 million and 30.9% in 2024).
The most popular lines were lines 1 (10.8 million journeys) and 3 (9.7 million journeys), while the most popular bus lines were line 8 (3.9 million journeys) and lines 7 and 4 (2.8 million journeys each).
"The most popular bus lines 8, 7 and 4 are the future super bus service, where the quality level and customer experience will be raised as close as possible to that of tram services," says Mika Periviita, Director of Public Transport.
More information on passenger numbers can be found on the Nysse statistics page, which is updated monthly.
Customer satisfaction remained high
Nysse regularly monitors customer satisfaction. In 2025, the overall rating for bus services was 4.2/5 (4.2 in 2024), for tram services 4.4/5 (4.5) and for connecting bus line services 4.3/5 (4.2). Bus passengers gave the highest rating for ease of payment (4.8/5), while for tram services, the drivers' performance received the highest rating (4.8).
The lowest scores for bus services were for the cleanliness of buses (4.2), but this is an improvement on the previous year (4.0). For tram services, the lowest score was given to the adequacy of seats (4.0).
The customer satisfaction survey also monitors the Net Promoter Score (NPS). An NPS score of 40 or higher is considered excellent. In 2025, the most popular lines were tram lines 1 (NPS 71) and 3 (NPS 70) and bus lines 35 and 55 (NPS 61).
The customer satisfaction survey is conducted monthly, and responses are collected on trams and buses. In 2025, nearly 25,000 respondents participated in the survey at different times of the day and under varying load conditions. Nyssen's partner in collecting customer experience data is Roidu Ltd.
