Registration for spring exercise classes begins on Friday, 2 January, when registration opens for exercise classes for working-age adults, baby swimming, and swimming schools. Registration continues on Monday 5 January, when it will be the turn of exercise groups for seniors, special groups, families, and youth groups.
Groups can be registered electronically on the website. You can also browse the groups in advance on the registration system. If you cannot register online, you can also register by telephone during separate phone calls.

In the spring season, there are also exercise groups available without the need to register
Single-fee exercise groups offer an alternative for those who do not wish to commit to a full season of group exercise. The one-off sessions include water aerobics and gym equipment tutorials, which provide good tips on how to train on your own in the gym.
Free walks with or without poles are offered by the peer instructors. Walking with poles makes walking more effective, but you can also take part without poles if you wish. The pace of the walk is determined by the group. The walks are weather permitting.
- Hakametsä Ice Stadium indoor walking group, Tuesday at 10 am, entrance and meeting at the door on the Edun Herkkukeidas side, at the corner of Hakametsä 2 (Keltinkatu 2).
- Kauppi, Tuesday at 10 am, meeting at the outdoor gym (Kuntokatu 5).
- Lamminpää, Thursday at 10 am, meeting at Rauhanportti (Rauhantie 21), brisk pace.
- Lentävänniemi, Wednesday at 10 am, meeting in front of K-market (Männistönkuja 2).
- Lielahti, Monday at 10.30 am, meeting in front of Lielahden lähitori, in front of the entrance on the Lielahdenkatu side.
- Pyynikin ridge, Tuesday at 2 pm, meeting at the steps next to the Rollikkahalli (Pirkankatu 37). The walk starts on 31 March 2026.
- Tesoma Welfare Centre, Wednesday at 1 pm, meeting in front of the advice desk of the Tesoma Welfare Centre (Tesomankatu 4).
In the open gym groups, the peer instructor offers fitness companionship. The gym groups meet in the city gyms, the client pays the gym entrance fee.
- Hervanta Leisure Centre (Lindforsinkatu 5) will open in spring 2026.
- Kaukajärvi Leisure Centre (Käätykatu 8) Tuesday 10–11 am.
- Nääshalli Sports Hall (Näsijärvenkatu 8) Monday 11–12 am, Thursday 10–11 am and Friday 1–2 pm.
- Tampere Swimming Centre (Joukahaisenkatu 7) Wednesday 10–11 am.
- Tesoma Ice Hall gym (Tuomarinkatu 7) Tuesday 10–11 am and Friday 9–10 am.

Have you just retired?
For recent retirees, there is a free Liikkuva arki - parempi olo, "Active everyday life - feeling better" course to give you tips on how to manage a healthy and physically active lifestyle. The course includes information about exercise and the importance of an active lifestyle in maintaining your health. Each session also includes physical activity on different themes. There will be 8 sessions in total, including mobility assessment and testing, information on the role of nutrition in physical activity, and indoor and outdoor exercise. Registration for the course starts on 5 January at 9 am.
Liikkumalla terveyttä, "The Moving for Health" lecture will be held on 4 February 2026 from 2.30 pm to 4 pm in the Kuusi-sali of the Metso Main Library. Come and listen to tips on how to start exercising, how you can prevent many diseases by exercising and how everyday life offers many opportunities for exercise.

Sports councelling is for anyone who feels they need tips and support to get moving. Councelling is one-to-one guidance from a sports instructor to help you get moving.
The counsellor will work with you to find ways to find the right way for you to start exercising. The advice is given over the phone or in person at meetings across the city.
