The event What protects our young people? will take place at Lehmus Hall, Metso Main Library (Pirkankatu 2, Tampere) on Tuesday 4 November 2025 from 6 pm. to 8 pm. You can attend on site or watch the live broadcast via Tampere Channel. The event is in Finnish.
From 5.30 pm. onwards, visitors at Lehmus Hall will have the opportunity to explore materials and meet organisations working in the field of substance use prevention.
– Many parents of children and young teens wonder what could protect their child from substance use, says Johanna Heine, Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator at the City of Tampere.
– During the event, parents will receive the latest insights from school health surveys, along with practical tips on how to talk about substances with young people in a constructive, respectful and open way. The event will also cover the use of nicotine products among youth – such as e-cigarettes and nicotine pouches – and their role in everyday life and peer pressure, Heine explains.
