Cultural Dreams and Community Art – Residents’ Wishes Reflected in Local Events
The City of Tampere's City Culture Unit asked Hervanta and Tesoma what kind of cultural activities would be possible and desirable in these areas. Art workshops, performances and community events requested by residents will be organised in different parts of Hervanta during the autumn. In Tesoma, a film screening will start at the Lyst welfare centre. The first film will be shown during the autumn break.
At the same time, a community art project, made possible by Operation Pirkanmaa - Cultural Network of Municipalities, has been launched in Hervanta, Tesoma and Peltolammi-Multisilla.
According to Project Manager Mari Jalkanen, both projects support the city's strategic objectives:
- Culture can strengthen inclusion and community. It is great that the ideas of residents and the skills of artists meet in such a concrete way.
Get involved and follow along on social media
The community artists' work will continue from September to December, with events taking place in libraries, youth centres and other everyday meeting places. The activities are free of charge and open to all - no previous experience is necessary.
Each community art project can be followed on social media, for example.
- People in Hervanta should join the Facebook group TIcAS <3 Hervanta.
- In Tesoma, the information goes under the Oma Tesoma heading.
- In Multisilla, the Facebook group Paikan henki ja lempipaikka has been set up.
