Aerial photography of Tampere city centre starts today. Twelve-metre-long, silent and emission-free airships will move around 100 metres above the Tampere sky until 9 May, depending on the weather. The filming will be carried out by the Finnish company Kelluu Oy.

For example, bad weather or strong winds may affect the filming schedule. As a result, the City of Tampere will have an accurate 3D model of the city centre, which can be used to support the planning of a rapidly developing city, to identify the need for redevelopment and to anticipate congestion, among other things. The imagery is fully secure, and no individual person can be identified from the end result.

During the filming days, you can come to the central square to meet representatives of Kellu and the City of Tampere, and to chat about the filming. Kelluun's airship will be on display at the Imagine the Citiverse event organised by the City of Tampere from 27 to 28 May.
