Changes planned for Teisko's public transport in 2026

The transport contract for the Teisko area will expire in May 2026. The option period of the current contract will not be used, so the transport service in the area will be put out to tender again. Public transport in the area has been the subject of much debate and criticism, so the bus service has now been redesigned.

The Public Transport Committee will decide on the routes and service level of the new line on 23 April. The new contract will start on line 90 at the beginning of June 2026 and on other lines in North Tampere at the beginning of the school year 2026-2027.

The proposed changes are being driven by economic factors and by the poor condition of some of the roads in the rural areas.

It is suggested to the Committee that commuter and leisure trips to Tampere city centre will be made on trunk line 90 in the area and on line 15 from Sorila. The new lines 91-93 are designed primarily for schoolchildren in the area and will operate only during the winter season, on primary and secondary school days. In the summer season 2026, only lines 15 and 90 will serve the northern Tampere area.

  • Line 90: Terälahti - (Maisansalo -) Kämmenniemi - Sorila - Sorin aukio
  • Line 91: Aitoniemi - Eerolansuora - Kämmenniemi – Mäntylä
  • Line 92: Viitapohja – Kämmenniemi
  • Line 93: Terälahti - Teisko kko – Kämmenniemi

In addition, the connecting line 15 would continue to run from Sorila, via Aitolahdentie and Linnainmaa to the Kauppi campus.
