The route to the main entrance

The 2 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors under 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is less than 3.6 m. Two accessible parking spaces are located right in front of the main entrance of Messukylä Library, approximately 8 meters from the door. The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement. Drop-off traffic can reach right up to the main entrance of Messukylä Library, and there is also space for cars to turn around. The route to the entrance is guided, smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated. Two accessible parking spaces are located outside, very close to the main entrance of Messukylä Library, approximately 8 meters from the main door. There is no specifically designated drop-off area, but there is ample space for drop-off traffic in front of the main entrance. The pathway to the main door is flat, sufficiently wide, and well-lit.

The main entrance

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance. The main entrance is clearly distinguishable and well-lit. There is free space outside the doors for movement with a wheelchair. The automatic door opener button is located to the left of the doors. Inside the vestibule, the opener buttons are located to the right of the door upon entry. The doors open automatically with the opener button. There are approximately 3.5 cm high metal thresholds under the entrance and vestibule doors. The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door opens automatically with an opening button. The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.

In the facility

The customer service point is on the entrance floor. The service point is located directly in front of the main entrance. There is rarely any queue there. In the library lobby, upon entering on the right, there are three gender-neutral restrooms, one of which is an accessible INVA restroom. The doors in the customer service point stand out clearly. The waiting room of the customer service point has no queue number system. The customers wait standing up. The customer service point has an accessible toilet on the same floor.

Messukylä's vibrant and pleasant library serves the residents, schools, day-care centres and care homes in the Ristinarkku area. The library is located in the same building as the Takahuhti lower secondary school.

The Messukylä Library has a quiet reading room that can be reserved for meetings. You can also book an exhibition space or an exhibition showcase at the library.

Self-service library open from morning to evening

The library has extensive self-service hours. During self-service hours, you can enter the library but the customer service is not open.

Return box open 24 hours a day. The box is emptied during service hours. When the library is closed, items left to the return box will be processed as returned on the next service opening day.
Visiting with dogs: only guide and assistance dogs allowed.
