Each year, the City of Tampere presents recognition awards to Tampere residents, groups and organisations that make an outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of others.
The Adult of the Year Award has been presented annually since 2007. This year, the award will be given to a person or organisation that listens to children and young people and is present in their everyday lives.
Anyone can nominate a candidate for the award. Well-founded nominations can be submitted using the online form until Sunday 18 October 2026.
Nominate the Adult of the Year 2026
The recipient of the award will be selected by the Culture and Leisure Committee of the City of Tampere. The committee will be supported by a group of children and young people, who will help define the qualities that should be emphasised in the selection process.
– There are many remarkable people in Tampere who could be recognised as Adult of the Year. They can be found everywhere: in associations, sports clubs, hobby groups, daycare centres and schools. It is worth taking the time to describe your nominee’s achievements carefully on the nomination form so that the selection panel can gain a clear understanding of each candidate, says Mika Vuori, Planning Manager at the City of Tampere.
The recipient of the award will be announced at the end of November 2026.
