Respond to the survey on summer maintenance of parks and pathways
How well do pathways, parks, playgrounds, market squares and public squares function during the summer? The summer maintenance survey collects residents’ experiences from across the city. The survey is open from 17 August to 13 September 2026. By responding, you can help improve maintenance services and enter a prize draw for gift vouchers.
Summer maintenance has a direct impact on everyday life by affecting the comfort, cleanliness and safety of parks and pathways. This is why residents’ experiences are particularly valuable.
– Based on the previous summer maintenance survey, new litter bins were installed across the city, identified issues were addressed and maintenance practices were improved. Responses also highlighted the impact of construction sites and events on mobility, although maintenance services have only limited opportunities to influence these factors. The survey results help identify both successes and areas for improvement, which is why residents’ feedback is important, says Jussi Pesonen, Work manager at Tampereen Infra.
In the survey, you can assess summer maintenance in your residential area, the city centre or any other area of your choice. Rate the standard of maintenance of parks, other green areas and pathways on a scale from 1 to 5. You can also share your experiences of issues such as the condition of playground equipment, the frequency of waste bin emptying and lighting.
The survey also provides an opportunity to give open-ended feedback. Completing the survey takes only a few minutes. At the end of the survey, respondents can enter a prize draw for gift vouchers. The city uses the survey to monitor user satisfaction and gather information to support the development of maintenance services.
Maintenance of the city's public areas is carried out by Tampereen Infra together with private contractors. Not all maintenance responsibilities belong to the city. For example, owners and occupiers of private properties are responsible for keeping the street area adjacent to their property clean and for maintaining stormwater drains.
You can use the City of Tampere map service to check, for example, which maintenance area your residential neighbourhood belongs to. The map can be zoomed in for a closer view.
