"Active Tampere Day" Offers a Wide Range of Recreational Activities for the Fall
The Kauppi Sports Center will be bustling with a diverse program on Saturday, as Tampere’s fitness industry professionals fill the entire venue. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy samples of various activities in the form of demonstration classes and performances, which they are also welcome to join if they wish. This year’s event is even bigger than before. The entire Kauppi Sports Center will be in use, and there will be activities and presenters for visitors of all ages.
Highlights of the day include, for example, a performance by Sori’s Circus, gymnasticsand dance clubs, Matti Puro’s daytime dance sessions, and a guided hike through the Kauppi countryside led by sports legend Hilkka Riihivuori. In addition, there will be things to see and do in the courtyard all day long, and vehicles from the police and emergency services will also be on site. Sports ambassador Brädi will provide the musical entertainment . DJ Juissi will host the event .
According to project planner Pia Naskali, the goal of the event is to raise awareness of recreational opportunities and lower the barrier to getting active.
“At the ‘Active Tampere’ Day, you can explore dozens of different sports and recreational activities all in one day. Visitors can easily compare options and find a way to be active that suits them. “Maybe you’ll find a new hobby for the fall,” Naskali suggests.
The event is organized by the City of Tampere in collaboration with Kauppi Sports Center, Hämeen Liikunta ja Urheilu, and Varala Sports Institute.
We recommend using public transportation to get to the event. The Kauppi Sports Center is easily accessible by Tram—get off at the Tays stop—as well as by several bus routes. If you are arriving by car, please use the nearby parking garages.
