Retirement! event offers inspiration and information for a new phase of life
The Retirement! event will take place at Tampere City Hall (Aleksis Kiven katu 14–16 C) on Monday 21 September 2026 from 5 pm to 7 pm. The event is aimed at Tampere residents who have recently retired or expect to retire within the next couple of years.
Retirement brings a significant change to everyday life and may raise many different emotions. It can feel exciting, inspiring, uncertain or even daunting. This informal evening event will provide information and an opportunity to meet others who are experiencing a similar transition.
Visitors will find information, practical tips and inspiration for the next stage of life. At information stands hosted by the City of Tampere and its partner organisations, attendees can learn more about available services, culture, wellbeing and financial matters.
The programme will feature inspirational talks by Tampere residents who have gone through the transition to retirement: coach Rauno “Rane” Korpi and journalist and yoga teacher Anne Flinkkilä. The evening will conclude with a musical performance.
Admission is free and no advance registration is required. The first 200 visitors will receive a mocktail and light savoury refreshments. A detailed programme will be published in September.
City Hall is fully accessible. The event follows the City of Tampere’s Safer Space Principles.
