Registration for autumn courses at The Adult Education Centre opens online on 1 August 2026
Registration for the autumn 2026 courses at the Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region begins online on Saturday 1 August 2026 at 12:00. The Adult Education Centre recommends registering online, but registration is also possible by phone and in person at the offices from Thursday 13 August 2026 at 12:00 onwards. Courses can be browsed in advance on the course website.
Support for online registration is available in Tampere at Sampola on Tuesday 4 August 2026 from 10:00 to 12:00 and on Thursday 6 August 2026 from 13:00 to 15:00, and in Ylöjärvi at the City Hall on Monday 10 August 2026 from 10:00 to 11:30. Customer service will also reopen after the summer break on Monday 10 August 2026 in Sampola and on Monday 17 August 2026 at Ylöjärvi City Hall.
As in previous years, the autumn programme includes both full academic year courses and one-term courses. In addition, short courses are offered, ranging from one-day or weekend courses to courses with a few sessions. Most teaching begins in early September, but courses start throughout the term.
New courses for autumn 2026 include, for example, Travel Latin, Karelian and Czech language courses, analogue photography, a relaxed spelling revision course, flow and yin yoga, introductory watercolour painting, a band workshop, an action film lab, a theatre group for young adults, Kinusaiga patchwork, and ceramics and forging courses at the Nekala Cultural Centre.
The public lecture season begins at the centre on Tuesday 1 September 2026. The free autumn lectures will take audiences on a journey to the great rivers of the world, explore the history of Tampere through photography, and cover topics such as community development, financial management, preparedness and safety, and health. Sampola’s Mystery Night will fill the building with intriguing content on Friday 13 November 2026.
The Adult Education Centre of the Tampere Region is the oldest adult education centre in Finland, with more than 15,000 students participating annually and over 30,000 course attendances across approximately 2,000 courses in Tampere, Ylöjärvi and online. The centre records over 185,000 visits each year.
