Finnish rock at Puistofiesta
Every year, Puistofiesta marks the unofficial start of Tampere’s autumn hobby season, bringing together local organisations and businesses in Hämeenpuisto. This summer, visitors can explore over ninety activity stands stretching from Hämeenkatu all the way to Näsinpuisto. The programme encourages people of all ages to discover new hobbies, try something unexpected and spend a relaxed summer day together.
Fresh and familiar Finnish rock
The first act to rock the main stage will be Tampere-based singer-songwriter Nina Kaitaranta, whose music has been described as “Manserock”. Kaitaranta’s songs feature distinctive, down-to-earth lyrics. Songs like Aamu Tammelassa and Lennosta kii take listeners through to familiar landscapes in Tammela and Petsamo.
The next set of rock´n´roll is brought to you by Miljoonasade Duo, formed by Heikki Salo and Tomi Aholainen. The duo will perform both songs from their well-known Finnish rock band’s repertoire and gems from Salo’s solo work with a fresh new approach.
Puistofiesta will conclude with Noora Louhimo, who has captivated audiences around the world with her unique voice and charisma. This versatile singer says her musical roots stretch back to the smoky blues bars of New Orleans and the country saloons of Nashville. In addition to Louhimo’s original music, the Noora Louhimo Duo will also perform songs familiar from the TV show Tähdet, tähdet.
In addition to rock music, the young ones will enjoy the playful songs and musical magic of the Siina & Taikaradio Duo, and mentalist Jenni Sofia will take the stage with her entertaining and thought-provoking show Nainen, jota et saa mielestäsi!. As usual, the event will be hosted by Simo Frangén who will delight the audience with his signature palindromes.
