Outdoor gym at Hervannanrinne is now open
The outdoor gym is now open to residents and improves access to outdoor exercise in the area. Hervannanrinne is located in Hervanta near the Lukonmäki area.
The outdoor gym includes, among other things, a multi-use frame, plyo boxes and various types of exercise equipment, enabling a wide range of training. Together, the workout stairs and the outdoor gym make it possible to combine, for example, stair workouts and strength training during a single visit.
Recycled materials have also been used in the construction. The artificial turf originates from Tammela Stadium, and the stone materials have been reused from old paving stones from Aleksis Kiven katu and the former Erkkilän silta Bridge.
The former ski slope is being developed into a diverse outdoor recreation area, and the outdoor gym is part of this wider development. It is located at the lower part of the slope and connects naturally with the area’s other sports facilities and outdoor routes. The area’s offering will also be expanded by a new mountain biking trail opening in July. The outdoor gym is free to use and does not require booking.
