Summer in Hervanta brings culture close to home
Come and spend a fun and social summer day in the surroundings of Ahvenispuisto and Hervanta Leisure Centre on 11 June from 14:00! During the day there will be a variety of activities in the area, including workshops on different themes, graffiti painting, rainbow book tips, performances by clown duo Albertiina and Hubert, and vogue dance classes in the leisure centre. In addition, a parish coffee trolley will be touring the event area offering light refreshments.
The day culminates in a Community Concert on the Ahvenisjärvi pier at 17.30. The headliner is Sweet Jeena and her Sweethearts, known for their raucous stage show and music based on the early gems of American popular music.
This summer, Hervanta will also host Summer Park Concerts, with a new venue in Suolijärvi. Free concerts will bring live music to the lakeside and offer a relaxed opportunity to combine culture and outdoor activities in a natural setting. On Sundays at 15:00, the concerts feature the gentle indie-pop of Valo , Duo Väre's versatile pop-jazz-bossa nova tunes and Kurjanmiekka's distinctive mix of folk, rock and electronic sounds.

The events are part of the Public Cultural Services' neighbourhood oriented work to strengthen community spirit and bring culture into everyday life in different parts of Tampere. The events are organised in cooperation with local actors.
