The library will close on Wednesday, 17 June. According to current information, it will reopen to customers on Wednesday, 5 August. There will be no customer service or self-service hours during the closure.
The book return slot will be out of use throughout the renovation. Items can be returned to any other PIKI library.
Loan periods for items borrowed from Messukylä Library before the closure will be extended automatically.
Changes to reservations
The closure will affect reservations as follows:
- Messukylä Library cannot be selected as a pickup location for new reservations from 20 May onwards.
- For existing reservations, the pickup location will automatically be changed to Koilliskeskus Library starting from 27 May. Customers may also choose another PIKI library as the pickup location in the PIKI Online library or through customer service.
- If a customer does not wish to collect reservations from another library, reservations can be frozen for the duration of the renovation via the PIKI Online library or customer service. In this case, Messukylä Library will remain as the pickup location. Freezing must be done by Tuesday, 26 May at the latest.
- After the renovation, the pickup location will not automatically change back to Messukylä Library; customers need to update it themselves in the PIKI online library or through customer service.
