Hatanpään puistokuja will change to a one-way for motor vehicle traffic in the direction of the Hatanpää Arboretum starting on 18 May 2026. The one-way traffic arrangement applies to the section between Hatanpään valtatie and Hatanpäänkatu and is expected to remain in effect until the end of July

Motor vehicle traffic on Hatanpään puistokuja will be temporarily changed to one-way traffic between Hatanpään valtatie and Hatanpäänkatu due to water main connection works and road reconstruction. The direction of travel is westbound from Hatanpään valtatie. The traffic lane runs alongside the construction site, and access to properties for motor vehicle traffic will remain in use. Continuous pedestrian and cycling routes will be available along the north side of the street.

Traffic exiting Boijenkatu, Puistosairaala area, and Hatanpää Manor toward Hatanpään valtatie will be routed via Hatanpäänkatu. Hatanpäänkatu will operate as normal.

Public transport will not operate along Hatanpään Puistokuja during the traffic arrangement. Instead, buses will turn around at the end of Hatanpäänkatu in the parking area of TAYS Hatanpää Breast Clinic, where a temporary replacement bus stop is located.

A city-commissioned street renovation is currently underway on Hatanpään puistokuja. As part of the project, the tree-lined avenue is being renewed, changes are being made to the street grading, and stormwater drainage lines are being constructed. On the section between Hatanpäänkatu and Hatanpään valtatie, cycling lanes will be built on both sides of the traffic lanes. In addition, pedestrian connection will be improved by constructing continuous sidewalks on both sides of the Hatanpään puistokuja near Hatanpää Manor.

The street renovation will be completed during October-November 2026. Landscaping and finishing works, including tree planting, will be carried out in spring 2027.
